Our story
The adventure began in Sigdal
It all began with a simple idea: to create extra flavorful crispbreads packed with seeds and kernels. The first recipes were developed in Sigdal, Norway, in 1977, laying the foundation for what is now known as Sigdal Bakeri.
Since then, Sigdal Bakeri has grown from a local idea into a well-known crispbread in Norway and in several international markets. Today, our crispbreads are produced in modern facilities in Norway, still based on the original recipes that started in Sigdal.
We remain committed to the same principles as in the beginning: quality ingredients, authentic flavors, and crispbreads rich in seeds and kernels. While our products are now enjoyed far beyond Norway’s borders, our roots remain in the baking traditions that began in Sigdal.

Sigdal
Sigdal municipality is located in the heart of Buskerud, surrounded by stunning nature and a vibrant cultural scene. With deep-rooted traditions, modern industry, and a strong sense of community, the people of Sigdal are connected across generations. It was also here that the first recipes forming the foundation of Sigdal Bakeri were developed in 1977.
We are a Norwegian bakery with strong roots in Norwegian tradition and the ambition to create authentic and pure quality products – for Norway and the rest of the world. With respect for tradition and an open mind toward modern ideas, we strive to create food that not only tastes great but also feels good.
